finicky jaguars and earthworms

Check the nutritional facts of flakes vs. frozen bloodworms. Flakes are also a good first step to move onto pellets.

I always starve onto pellets. 90% of the time, it only takes 3-4 days. Which is hardly enough to stunt or bother the fish.

i had problems getting my new jaguars to eat pellets ,they would pick at a couple when they got soft but would eat very little, they now eat fine but i recon it was about 2 months for them to eat properly.
i've never seen or heard of a fish that would starve it's self to death ,so my advice would be to only feed the pellets tha you would like them to eat and don't give in.

the only reason i suggested flakes is like someone said, I transition them to pellets and at that size flakes are more than enough to feed them, and they get that taste for staple fish foods. It's good to skip feedings every once in awhile for your fish as a regular cycle also. I skip feeding at least once a week.

That's odd. My 3 Jag's would eat basically anything. They'd eat pellets mostly, they had to be the larger ones, they'd ignore anything too small. They also loved all the different bugs you could buy for reptiles, Crickets, Earthworms, Mealworms, Superworms, Waxworms. They also loved Bloodworms sometimes. I never really fed them any live fish until they were about 5 or 6 inches, after that, they'd get feeders occasionally, like once a month or something, they always got excited. They grew pretty quick on a primarily pellet diet.
