Check out the panterinus. Newly named and pretty cool looking.
Looks almost identical to my black spotted Eels!
Few things frustrate me as much as ordering fish online and getting the wrong ones... Live Aquaria sells "yellow tail zig zag Eels" that are really half banded Eels, a true zig zag Eel gets as large as a TT or a fire eel, not 7" like they claim.Yeah they were sold in the same batches as tire track and black spotted. I found a few that I thought was all panterinus but as they getting larger there’s one maybe 2 black spotted.
My LFS is amazing about it, one of the employees is the one who got me into them to start with. But online, usually trash.Yeah the spiney eel labels are pretty bad at most shops. I think it’s because there aren’t any “expensive” species so the owners don’t pay attention or bother doing any research. I wouldn’t wanna buy spiney eels online unless it’s a fire eel. No one really makes a mistake on labeling that one
I reeeeeally like the tangayika Eel you posted, I've wanted to have a tropheus tank for a while and they would be perfect tank mates!
