Finnex 24/7 help

Another way to control algae is to add more plants to the tank, so what was once excess nutrients is now being used by the new plants. Plants out compete algae for nutrients, but just like plants algae uses light for photosynthesis and feed on excess nutrients in the water.

As to dimming, I was referring to where you said something about adding the Planted+ to the tank...

You could get a Planted+, and suspend it above the top of the tank... 48" Finnex Planted+ PAR is 60 at 18" depth, and 25 PAR at 30" depth, so since your tank is 24" tall and with substrate leaves say 20" - 21" by suspending the fixture 4"-5" above the top of the tank should give you between 32-36 PAR which is what you want for a low light/lowtech planted tank.

A 48" ray 2 would definitely be too much for this tank right? Planted plus 48" should be just right it looks like?

Thanks. Another planted plus it is then. My 55 when I had it had some bba, but that tank was such a beautiful jungle. Hope I can get the jungle Val to take over some with it.

Yeah I had a bad case of BBA a couple of years ago, so I added a pair of true siamese algae eaters to the tank and they cleaned it up within a couple of days. Then last year when my 45 gallon tank was planted I had a really bad case of hair algae so I got 5 Amano Shrimp which cleaned it up within a week...

But yeah the Planted+ is a beast for planted tanks, I was thinking of getting one for my 45 gallon tank, but I decided that I want to stick with T5HO for it...

I used the same light on my 40breeder and 125gal I notice that the light are not strong enough for the 125gal because of the high. I added another one in and the plants seem to be doing much better now

I saw on YouTube the guy added the finnex color enhancing on the plants tank and that look amazing. I'm thinking about adding it on my tank what you think?
