Hello all!
I noticed that only few finns have found this forum, so I wanted to share with you this very typical finnish style chiclid setup of this size tanks.
so, my tank. It is a beech Juwel Rio 240 (about 63gal), that has had its original filter replaced with Hydor Prime 30 and Eheim ecco 2236 external filters. I used fine sand as a substrate and resin rocks, redmoor- and bogwood as decor. The only plants that survive in the tank are vallisneria, duckweed and Amazon frogbit.
The animals in this tank are Geophagus sp Tapajos redhead breeding pair (with babies), few bristlenosed cats, applesnails and some guppies (for food).
So, what makes this a typical setup. ..Well there aren't all that many fish in the tank. The filtration is on overkill. NO plastic plants or artificial looking decor whatsoever. ..I really should have taken a picture, right?
Right.
Well anyway, I hope this gives you an idea of the finnihs idea of the nice chiclid setup.
Cheers!
