fire eel and BGk problems

on an icecube.....
i picked up a BGK and fire eel on boxing day and they both now seem to be sick, the fire eel looks like he has tail rot or something(the end of it tail is missing and the rest is ragged and light colored)he dosent seem to eating either, the BGK has ripped up fins and i think he might have ick, the fire eel is in a 20g with two TT eels,and three small P senegals all the other fish seem fine iam not sure what kind meds to try(malifix?)? the BGK was in a 34 with two clown loaches, fire eel and 2" silver aro(last two were just added tonight)but right now hes in a 2.5(i was thinking if he does have ich to switch him from tank to tank like guppy sugests in his sticky)should i raise the temp in the 34 and add some salt just to be safe or would it harm the fire eel or baby aro? all the water seems fine sence iam doing WCs often but right now iam not sure what my PH is, last what would be some good meds to have on hand for treating fish?

yes the eel is still alive and eating well but i think the fungus is slowly moveing up his body(his tail is gone and i think its eating away at his body now:eek: )ive been using melafix at full dose on him and my BGK(in same half full 20g)but i hope eels arent that sensitive to salt sence my two CLs had ick this morning(right after i added in one of TT eels i was keeping in QT to make sure it was healthy:nilly: )and i cant get it or the fire eel thats in there out(buried under the gravel)ive added 8 tablespoons of salt(34g)and temp is 82 so i hope the eels will be ok:( , i would like to get a pic of the disease but i dont a camera...
 
The fire eel and and BGK will both tolerate the 86F+ degrees and 2 teaspoons salt/gallon you will want to treat ick, as will the clowns. I don't know about the aro.
DO NOT USE any FORMALIN/MALACHITE GREEN mixture like CLOUT as the loachs, spiny eels and knives are all very sensitive to it. If the eel has body or fin rot you need something a lot more effective than melafix. Try Binox or Maracyn Plus, or a combination of Maracyn and Maracyn 2.
 
thanks guppy i will look for binox and maracyn today, i havent seen the small CL today:( but the big one is looking mutch better, i added more salt and finaly got the temp to 85(i cant get the heater up anymore though)the two eels seem fine, unfortunatley the aro died:cry:
