i am about to purchase a fire eel, apparently eats pellets.
doesnt matter.... i will be putting it in my discus tank
and the diet of my discus is 50 to 70% beef herat mix containing veges, shrimp, fish and GARLIC.

is it ok for fire eel to eat garlic?

its fine for him to eat garlic

yes it fine but try blood worm every so often.

I'de be concerned about the beef heart if anything, do abit of research and you'll see why beef heart, and animal protein is generally is not good for most fish species to ingest as a regular part of their diet excludeing a few species of larger predatory fish who's natural intake includes mammalian in particular proteins.

Garlic is often used as a general antioxident, as well as an appetite stimulant for fish.

I think you mean mammal protein (basically everything they eat in the wild are animals) :grinno:. But anyway, yeah I agree, it would be a lot healthier to only feed them aquatic organisms.

dont let him fool you, the tank is really a pot... he is just fattening up the fish and spicing the water(broth). next he will start to feed them onions potatos sliced carrots. He will then tell the fish that it looks to chilly for them; not being worldly, as they have spent all their lives in doors; they will belive him. He will turn up the heater temp... slowly over a few days he will bring the water to a boil. The fish wont catch on until to late. Then after years of planning he will have done it.

Put it this way, anything that you can get it to eat that you don't mind ALWAYS feeding it...go with.If you can get it on pellets, which will require a lot of work, then awesome.Seems like you already have exp. feeding picky fish, so you;ll feel this out just fine.
