fire eel feeding questions

Mine only eats bloodworms and only likes to eat every 2 days, I never see it either it has a hiding spot and just appears out of nowhere. It reminds me of a SA bumblebee cat.
I'm looking forward to the suggestions, I could use some!!

feed it some garden worms, mussel or srimp. when feeding it new food try cutting the food into elongated pieces and giving it a wriggle as though imitating a worm, the fire eel will definitely take it 100%

i had a similar problem at first. try some live river shrimp or worms, give it some time eels sometimes take time to acclimatize

Hey do you think a payara barracuda and a alligator gar could tank with a fire eel ?

you should already know that aligator gars get massive and at a really fast rate, the fire eel would eventually be snack

i tried to house a 10 inch vieja biffa with my fire eel and they fought quite abit my eel is 24 inches and has a attitude but will not eat a guppy or anything but mysiss (1 brand at at that)

Hello everyone,

I have a fire eel that will only eat shrimp. I want to vary his diet but he won't take anything else. I feed shrimp talapia deer heart squid clam pellets and mussel. I have had him about 7 months he is healthy eats out of my hand and has grown from about 7 to 15 inches. My question is do you have any other food suggestions or should I just not worry about it. I would like to thank anyone in advance for the help, and happy holidays.
