Fire eel got tagged

Noticed it this morning. The pearls stinger is rubbed up but still there. Right on top of her gills, really swollen.

Keep the water super clean... if all is right it should heal up

I lost a few monster fish to stingray attacks after that, I started cutting the barbs off

I'm scared to try to grab there tails to trim the barbs

Looks bad today. She's eating and acting normal but the hole from the sting is getting more open.

Swelling is down but the wound is bigger, more open. I'll feed later and see how her appetite is. Seems to be hiding more then usual too.

Swelling going down is always a positive sign

I guess it's just like a standard wound now. Maybe it did more internally than you could see externally, so as it heals it's opening. At least it didn't hit the gills

Incredible,I recall reading about people walking in river shallows and accidentally stepping on rays, getting stung and nearly going mad from the pain of the sting yet with the eel it's pretty much business as usual aside from the swelling.
