Fire eel price

One of my lfs got in a fire eel last Friday. His is 7-8". Fairly plump, and looks to be in good health. They have him at $39.99. It seems like a decent price, what do you guys think? Also anything I need to look for with this guy, I am new to eels... thanks

bought a 10" for $15. in the philippines anyway.

not 100% but iir fire eels are illegal in florida to own? If not thats not a great price.. but not a bad one either.. a health spiney eel imo is worth it's weight in gold. alot of them aren't in good shape.

The only other ones I can find are online, and with shipping they are more. I if can watch him and make sure he is eating good I think I'm gonna buy him. I have wanted one for forever

I saw some fire eels today at my LFS. They were about 9-10 inches and $40.

so i wonder if you are still debating on the fire eel lil brother, and for the other guys i saw it with him, it looked ok, but was hiding mostly so it was difficult to say on the overall health but he was 49.99 not 39.99, but im more then sure we can knock the price down with some reasoning. the owners been good about workin with us on other stuff.

Ok so I bought the little fella. He is 9" id say. He is fat and the guy at the lfs said he was eating well on bloodworms. So I put him in my tank and he already claimed his new cave. He is so cool sittin there with his head pokin out. As soon as I turned the lights off he was out cruisin around, good sign I guess. I'm gonna try feeding him 2morow, I'm gonna try trout worms 1st. I'll try and get some pice up 2morow. Wish me luck.
