Ok got a fire eel on monday... It hasnt really ate that I can see and I know thats normal... But all is does is float at the top n wrap itself around the intake for my filter.... Hes got plenty of hiding spots down on The bottem n its sand and 220 so hes got a lot of swim room... Jus wanna know if thats normal n if so when is gonna be a good time to try n feed

If your fire eel like hanging at the top of the tank on the outlets, make sure there are NO holes near it, or your eel will get out...

My old eel did the same thing all the time, then one day i woke up to a bone dry eel on the floor...

The only room th er is to get out is like a quarter inch from where the water comes oit of the filter but hes also only like 6 or 7 inches so im not worried about it now but I will be later... But the top is plywood coated in liquid ruber with a big shop light resting on it so its pretty wieghted down for now.... But I was jus wondering when I should try to feet him for the first time... I got him on monday n I know he not fonna wanna eat for a few days but idk when I should try first

When my fire eel was young, he would end up inside my HOB filter all the time. I had to fish him out a couple times a week until he was too big to fit in there.

Oo well he curls up by my ac 110... Idk if its big enough to get in there lol but thats funny ill have to look out for it

My guy would hide in my hob also. One day he pushed the lid open and landed on the floor. Try mysis shrimp that is the only thing mine will eat
