my fire eel has been sick for about a month. he is 7 years old and in a 125 gal kept at 80 fahrenheit. ammonia 0ppm, pH 7.0-7.2 nitrate 0.5-10ppm, nitrites 0ppm. I planned on moving him to a 200 but he recently got sick. at first he was just hiding a lot for a couple of weeks and then he started rejecting food. he has eaten once in the past few weeks. he pooped a couple of times about a month ago and it was yellow and muscousy. now he spends his time upside down gasping or spinning in his tube rubbing his body against the sides.he sometimes comes out of the tube but swims erratically continually spinning and showing his nose into the corners of the tank and in the sand. I cant tell if he cant swim upright or just won't. he often scrapes his nose by aggressively hitting things but it has gotten more frequent and worse. there is also a spot on his tail which is new. he jumped out of his tank a couple of days ago and i’m not sure if it is damage from that or some sort of disease or parasite. my water levels are all good. i dosed metronidazole a week ago go twice and he seemed to improve for about 4 days and then he regressed. i cannot access any more metronidazole as i am in canada and am not sure what to do. please help me identify what is causing this and help me find treatment options. please look at all of the images as there are ones of his swimming patterns, body marks, mouth and gills.
