Fire eel swam into filter outlet R.I.P.

wow this is really weird for me. My eel always plays with my fluval. It never went wrong, he just likes it. SKIP to 1:08

he is now at least twice as big and he still does it sometimes.

View attachment 1341915 So yesterday I decided to move my fire eel from 75g mixed tank where I was growing it out for the last 1-2 years to the 210 with bichirs. I decided it was big enough at 9” or so. This morning I woke up to find it’s tail sticking out of the FX6 outlet. I hoped he was still alive but even with pulling I couldn’t get him out. Had to dismantle the thing. oh well.

I lost my fire eel the same way.. I replaced my FX6 outlets with an FX4 ever since.

It's so sad... it wasn't an eel but once a bichir of mine somehow jumped through the weir comb, got on the sump, and jumped out of the sump to dry inside the stand... There were so many hiding spots in the tank I only found out when he stunk.
