Does anyone there keeping fire eel? What does it eat? I am keeping one now but don't seem to eat anything. LFS recommended bloodworm but I can't feed bloodworm as it dirty the tank water easily. Is there any other recommendation?

any pics?

what is fire eel? any site got introduction on them?

sound interesting

This belongs in a different section. Fire eels are best fed beefheart of bloodworms. I would use bloodworms if I were you. Just use the search function or google, and you'll come up with a few hits. I wouldn't worry about the water quality too much. The eel will eat a very large chunk, and most of your other fish will also try to steal the bloodworms.

is there an eel that will not grow too big?
thinking keeping 1 eel in my tank

any recommendations? i do not want an eel that grow huge and eat up all my fishes~

Agree with Ming, they eats anything. But when I first got the fire eel, it didn't eat. I tried with live bloodworms, and that really helped him eat.

Nice eel dodgefreak :)

My 26" Fire eel eats whole prawn, mussel whitebait and earthworms, he was the same at first and would only eat bloodworms, but bloodworms will not sustain his growth.
We recently got a tyretrack that was exactly the same, try soaking chopped prawns in defrosted bloodworm and feeding them that.
