Definately get the fires man...;)....you'll be quite happy I believe. Especially once they become adults.
 
PP-do these fire fish stay smaller than other lugubris? I noticed Rapps has them listed as 8-9" XL and aqualog has there top size a bit smaller. ANy knowledge of this?

Rapps is talkin in terms of the importation size...not the actually adult size. They should get about 10 to 12"...although I believe that they are like most Lugubris pikes and get 14"+....I attached a picture of an adult...looks a little bigger than 9"...eh? ;)

As far as sexing them, I am not entirely sure. I've only seen one picture of an adult...it MIGHT be a female. Its possible they are sexable the same way most other Lugubris are...however...that BLACK band in the dorsal of that adult i posted might be an indicator of being a female...;). Don't really know for sure...time will tell. Its kinda exciting time for Crenicichlaholics right now.

About being sensative, I wouldn't doubt it. They should become a little less sensative, but they come from pristine waters, so TOP NOTCH water quality is a must. Heavy aeriation is probably a great idea as well.
