Thanks for the compliments. There are 2 in a 150 gallon. I have heard they would beat each other up but I have had no problems. The swim together and beg like dogs for food. They are some of my favorite fish for sure. I even had a 3rd one in there but pulled him out.

Thats great!! Why did you pull him out? How large are they now? Your tank is inspirational man! LOVE it!! So loud and active!! Just awesome!

I could not get the 3rd one on frozen food. I took him out because he was skinny as my finger. I gave him some tiny crayfish and he ate 3 and then died the same day. He was hard headed as any eel I have had.
I also had a peacock eel but he jumped out on me. I found atleast with fire eels if you provide them with enough cover and keep them with smaller fish they wont jump. These two were in a bare bottom and jumped out and hid in a hang on filter all the time. Once I moved them to the tank in the pic I had no problems. They could jump out pretty easy if they wanted to but choose to hang out in the wood.

The two left are well over 12". The bigger loaches in the pics are at 6". They are super fat. i feed them Mussels, frozen Krill, and market shrimp.

Those are awsome pics of an INCREDIBLE tank LRRY93. My fire eel is 25" long and my brown spot is 15" long. I've had them both since they were about 5".They have lived together for 3yrs now and are very close. I enjoy all my fish but these are two of my favs.Very attached to my fire eel.My 150gal has several large gaps in the cover and although i've rescued both out my overflows they've never jumped or escaped. My fire eel eat only earth worms but the brown spot eats anything.
