Nope, I do water changes on tuesday and friday and literally haven't missed one in over a year. I remove water until it hits the top of a power head every time so the amount hasn't changed either.

I would by no means say I could skip a waterchange and let the pothos handle the load. But it does seem to be helping as an addition to my normal schedule.

I will definitely be adding some type of pothos to my new tank after my experience so far

Yes, does sound very much like it can only be the Pothos at work!

Pictures guys! One thing is to add, but what an amount of pothos do you use i have 2 pothos vines going in smaller tanks, i havent done any readings as its a small amount, but when they get bigger, il run them all into my ray tanks, and check there. But i am curious about the amounts you guys put in. Pictures tell more then a 1000 words

My Nitrates after the WC today where still hovering right above 20 seems that might be as far as it gos for now. I will keep testing and update with any further improvement

I recently dug up a Pothos from the plant pot and added it to the tank top, roots n all...finally have got some growth with 3-4 new leaves, the Water was already at 25ppm Nitrate due to the 25 gal drip per day but it will be interesting to see if it drops any further due to this growth. Since the Nitrate is stable below 30ppm I have noticed some small amounts of green algae starting, hopefully the Pothos will compete with that!

I have added some pothos to some of my small aquariums, they are overstocked and have a desent amount of nitrate to take off, but i dont feel them growing any, took ages to see roots, and they dont exactley "explode" in there..

I have a pothos in a glass vase with java moss on a window ledge in indirect sunlight. There is no algae growth at all and the water is very clear at all times. I will try it in my sump.

Speaking of algae, does any1 know if plants, or pothos precisely helps reduce or eliminate algae? I wander bc my big tank has no signs of algae and its been close to 3months running and close to 8weeks since the pothos have been introduced.... just curious

The plants will compete with the algae for the available nutrients.
