what kind of wood did you collect? i need to get some large chunks for my 240 but dont want to pay the outragous prices for big driftwood. i want a piece like the branchy one you have in there. did you collect that one?

i think oak and beech wood is generally recommended by Lee Nuttal

any particular strain of oak? i dont think i have much if any beech trees around here

Am not sure.the branchy one you talking about is actually a huge piece that supports the full wood structure.its bought from a store

Very striking tank!! Have you thought of putting a few wild type swordtails in there as dithers? Just a suggestion to create a really authentic CA biotope.
