Firemouth Cichlid w/ Breeding Pair Black Convict Cichlids?

It took my pair 3 days after I got them to spawn. They're pairing up. You'll know that she's gonna lay eggs soon when her breeding tube is showing. It's very noticeable. I have a pair of marbled cons that have 2 week old fry. Guess they got it right the first time. I also have another marbled pair that spawned 3 days after I got them. But the male from this new pair isn't helping the female at all. He just swims around the tank. I'll show you a vid later if you want.

I would get a pair of HRP's but idk how they will do in this 55gal which has my male & female black cons. Do you guy's know why my male con has faded bars and body is abit yellowish? His finage is great and has nice colors especially when all his fins are up. Will his darker shading and bars show more as he grows?
 
Well I suggested the HRPs late. But I think they would be a better pair to house with the fire mouth than the pair of cons. I like hrps better cause of the coloring they have at a young age. And they don't spawn as much.

Oh I forgot to mention that the female sometimes starts shaking or vibrating when it comes towards being next to this rock in the middle of my tank and after the male is showing more aggression. Is it just her shaking things off or is there a reason she does it? Sorry for all the questions..im just really curious about how they are acting since I've never seen a male & female con in my tank do alot of those things.
