Even poor quality Firemouths are attractive fish, but high quality specimens under the right light will take your breath away, especially when displaying their throat latch. The blue and green spangles along with the black markings and red throat make them like jewels in the sunlight.
I've only had a few that were very aggressive, most got a long well with other cichlids, barbs and bigger tetras...even angelfish. They color up around 2 and half, three inches, but are really slow growers.
