There's a guy who posted in this thread that has pics of a firemouth and convict pairing in his gallery.

I think they would be interesting if the firecons actually colored up nice and red.

Definitely keep us posted to see if they do after a year or so! Don't give up!

i have seen a adult speicamen of this hybred before they are very attractive put the pair in another tank grow out the fry u will like the end result.

can anybody find pics of firecons?I looked everywhere and I cant find em.I tried looking at the guys pics who said he had some and I dont see them there anymore.

Hey, I just stumbled upon this site, as My Fem FM and Male Blue Convict have recently successfully bred in my 75gal. I've got just the two of them in there and only took a week or two, now I have roughly a few hundred fry in my tank. Don't have any pictures and don't have plans to post them, but figured I'd mention it...

Over the past few months I had noticed the two of them "dancing" together, constantly posturing at one another and swimming circles around the other. I did not intend for the two to breed, in fact it was my belief that they were both males, and that the interactions I was witness to were simply a dominance dispute or something.

I'm hoping that the pictures I've seen are rough estimates at best...I'd like to see their offspring with the red mouth and blue accents on the fins from the firemouth, with the striping pattern and blue color from the blue con, along with some of the sort of metallic speckling from the firemouth.
