yeah i cant wait to see what they are like have seen a few pics of others and they look pretty cool but apart from that i know nothing!
 
how long have you had the pair in the tank?
 
oh there's three actually 3 ! lol! um, i bought them together to add a bit of life to my gourami tank and they started to leave me eggy pressie's but i dont know which male is the daddy so i keep them as a threesome!!!

gratz on your eggs, dont think you'll have a problem getting rid of the fry, the tankmates will slowly pick them off one at a time, unless you siphon some out as they become swimmers
 
the parents will most likely be leading around a cloud of around 50 fry in about a week, at that point i wud put a divider in your tank seperating them off from the rest of the tank and hte parents will raise the young wither way gl :D
 
thanks guys for your imput, but they are hybrids and no-one wants them.......do they? I can't help myself for wanting them to be okay, but the fact is what'll I do with them all?
 
to edcal....the parents are adamant no other fish is gettin near these babies! they are dominating 75% of my 70gal and not even the plec is gettin any where near
 
first of all congrats on the spawn. umm i defently agree on setting up a divider or siphoning them out and putting a few in a diffrent tank, but you can try and give them away or to a local pet store. Because there will be alot it the eggs dont get eaten (I know the parents are protective) But most people with the convict fry use them as feeders because there is that many. But good luck to ya and if you can take some pics of the possible parents and fry that would be awesome:popcorn:
 
Thanks for that navykorman, of course I will do anything possible to save these babies but as far as I know no-one wants hybrids and yeah I could use them as feeders' but I'm female, blonde and Englishso basically I'm to soft to do it!!!!!
