The split dorsal fin sucks!!! I have a beautiful female JD right now, she's got crazy colour, lots of yellow in the back half of the dorsal, plenty of blue all over, a nice thick red stripe on the dorsal...and a big chunk of of her Dorsal at the mid point. Had it since I got her when she was only about 2.5 inches, thought it would heal up as time went on. She's a beautiful fish, but that part has never regenerated. Many of you have some nice Firemouths...can't wait till mine gets larger like that.

My FM is 3" and shows good red and the fins have red/blue, but is a little lacking for the blue on his body.I agree with the genetics idea but food is also gonna be a big factor make sure to include some live foods.I feed bloodworms 5 or 6 time a week.
