Firemouth or Not?

Well my cousin bought what he thought was 2 firemouths at petco about 10 months ago. They were in a 29 with awsome filtration for a long time until this christmas. They are now in a 55. Well these fish to me do not look like firemouths anymore. They do not act like firemouths and they do not grow like firemouths. They are still like 3"! My friend had a firemouth with many fish in a 29 with not that great filtration and it was very bright and grew really fast. Please tell me if these are actually firemouths and if not what r they? The first 3 are a picture of the firemouths and the other one is just of his other fish. And his pleco is a 9" rhino pleco that he is very proud of.

well they look like to me they are a type of fire mouth from the thorichyths family srry for the spelling they may not be meeki...but they sure look like it looks like you have a male and females though...and petco never gets unusual fish so they prob are firemouths
 
Yea I kno that but they just do not look like firemouths to me.

that pretty weird that spot under its gills makes it look like a firemouth......................................................... could be a weird mutaion in the petco's stock of and albino for maby ???
 
to me the third pic looks like a normal firemouth, but not the first two pics so much. Wierd, I agree, they may be a mild hybridization of a firemouth
 
looks like mine and i think mine is a firemouth
