I'm not saying you keep them in a small tank, like a shoe box... I think you're mis-reading my comments.... I'm saying from what I've read and experienced shallower tanks are best for breeding FMs... When I say footprint I'm not saying the size of a human shoe but the general area or space of the surface of the tank should be the biggest possible... i.e. like a shallow area of a lake or lagoon.
Sorry Cyberman, I speak spanish natively, and We say "en forma de caja zapatos" (like "shoes box form"), meaning deeper but more depth and long tank.
Thanks
!!, but here is the update 3 of the fish have been driven off into the corner of the tank while the pair have taken over this piece of driftwood, but i do not see any eggs, but the firemouth i believe is the (female) based off everything i have read is hardcore protecting something under the driftwood even going after the big male, and even charged the tank glass when i was peaking to see what the firemouth is protecting. Any Advice ? can firemouths even put eggs on driftwood ?
