I really did think he has/has HITH but every treatment that I have tried has not worked.

I have been treating in a 10g tank with Salt, Metronidazole and 30c water with every other day 50% water change with lots of aeration, he still has a very healthy appetite and I have been feeding cut up earth worms, bloodworms and brine shrimp enriched with spirulina.

For the last eight days I have been treating with http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/octozin.htm just in case the metro wasn't working, oh and I soaked the frozen food in the treatments to make sure he ate some and got some in to his blood.

He has one hole or pit in his head area and then some kind of fungus around the area where the pelvic fins connect to the body and at the top of his body both shown in the pics

Can any one else suggest what else I can do? Or what this might be as all the treatments for HITH have not worked, the pitting doesn't seem to have got any worst but the fungus has got steadily worst over the last two months, I really feel for him as he is stuck in the 10g for so long, he would love to go back in the 180!

It would be the best outcome if some one could say he has got a certain disease then I could treat for that.

Please help!

Any one help?

It seems you are feeding him right.

I would try Maracyn/Maracyn 2. Its an Antibiotic

I dont know for sure what this fish has, kinda looks like HITH/bacterial infection

Looks like bacterial infection to me. What are your water parameters? The hole in the dorsal fin can indicate poor water conditions.

Ok, I'll try and get some. Looks like it could be hard in the UK though.

He came to me with a small lesion to the top of his head but then it just got worst and worst, water has been perfect in the Q tank for the last 2 months because of using seeded media and 50% every other day water changes.

My main tank never has any problems as my water changes are 20% a week and way over filtered, all other fish perfect.

Amonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 30
PH 7.5

Is Maracyn 2 best for this bacterial infection?

Use a combo of Maracyn and Maracyn 2. Do more water changes to lower the nitrate to 20.

I'll try and get hold of some, prescription only here in the UK

I wish I could get the Nitrates lower, we just don't have that luxury here in the UK, tap water is 30-40 :(

Raise up some temp (around 80 to 85) for baterial infection and HITH.
it really helps.

You can see from first post that I already have the temp at 85...
