firemouth tankmates?

I had two Oscars in a 75 gallon for awhile with no trouble. You just have to watch the nitrates and have alot of filtration. Then of course you have have the aggreession work out. In a 90, you could do the two Oscars and a firemouth or two if they got along.

I wouldn't bother keeping a firemouth with angels because they will be them up so bad to the point of death

Ok. thanks for your opinions. My purpose with four O`s is that I want them to become pair. when that happens my petstore will buy back two of them. Yeah I do realize that I need to move the angels soon, but I think that as long as they get along with the oscars theres no need of removing them.

Agreed. I keep my angel with my pikes, snooks, and other cichlids with no problem. They aren't exactly the pushovers that everyone makes them out to be. As long as there are no real aggression issues you should be fine.

What other tanks do you have? Perhaps you could get the firemouths and put them in one of those?

i have my oscar with a FM and it is perfect. They dont pay any attention to each other. The oscar is calm so it doesnt mind the FM which is too big for him to eat and the FM is not threatened by the bigger oscar's personality so they just leave each other alone. all the oscar wants is food.

Angels are pretty versatile, in a communityish setup with smaller fish they will be peaceful because the small fish are not seen as a threat, but they are surely not wimps and stand up to other fish that mess with them

since its been 10 months since i started this thread I thought I´d give you an update on this matter. I did bought the Fm´s and the only problem I had with them was that the male killed the third female. when I bought my latest tank I gave this tank away. So in that tank it worked mixing Fm, angels and oscars.

they are in the same tank (90g). I gave away the fish too.
