Firemouth?

Ok thanks guys good to know. Do the geophagus defend themselves from other cichlids? I've never seen mine be aggressive but then again no one bothers them either.
 
Because the other fish in the tank are "not" conspecific this may be why there is no current aggression.
Putting it in a tank with another species of Geo or similar earth eater type, like the Central American equivalents of the genera Thorichthys, or Cribroheros or even an African earth eater such as Taeniolethrinops may be a different story.
 
Thank you all. I think i may just leave him I. His current setup and remove him if anything goes south. He is doing pretty well in the current setup and showing a ton of color. Also not getting any damage from the other tankmates even though he is on the bottom of the tank hierarchy.
