In a 125g (6' long) tank I would say 12 is a good number as previously mentioned. 2 pairs are also a good ratio, however 3 are possible if aquascaped with many caves and barriers that do not face each other. I say 2-3 pairs because each pair WILL defend 24" of substrate as their home. Extremely aggressive FM males can overtake a 55g. Their bark is big but they can kill other fish if they are more peaceful. (kribs and rams)

I think your Sevs will have many split fins from skirmishes.
Swordtails are found in their natural range and are live bearers. Keeping them together is very easy and there is always a snack around! FM's are easy to feed as they eat almost anything! Just keep them guesing whats for dinner!
