firemouths are good looking fish, i believe they dont color up deeply until they mature

Good quality ones can color up even at small sizes, as far as maturity is concerned, they are ready to spawn below 3" mark. Recently i got a few juveniles for my friend, they were damn red even at 2.5", pity that his parrots killed those

So I can wish mine exceed normal size....anyones got examples, firemouths EXCEEDING 6" mark(excluding tail extensions)....
