Firestone Rubber Roofing As Pond Liner

Thanks!!!! What about a mild bleach solution? I plan on giving it a pretty good (bleach?) scrubbing, filling it with heavily dechlorinated water, letting it run for a while with a recirculation pump, draining it, filling it, running it through the filter, and then finally putting the fish in at the same time as the seeded media.

Test the bleach on a section first. And why use dechlorinated water to fill if you just plan to drain. No need to waste the dechlor to rinse it.

Like I posted before, there is no difference between this and a firestone pond liner except for the thickness, (and maybe the powder); so you can just use it like you would any other EPDM liner.

Do you know how many mils?

I'm not sure of the thickness, I'll go outside and look at it in and see if it's printed on it. or something.

If the lawn is not frozen yet lay the liner out and use Dawn Liquid Dish Soap and a soft broom or old towel to rinse off all the reside. If you line your pond and have many folds in the corners, all the powder may not get rinsed. I've never used roofing EPDM, but many people have and if it's 40 mils. you'll be set.

The most used thickness is 60 mil. Its harder to work with than the the thickness used for pond liners, 45 mil, but its stronger

When i got POND liner for my tank I never washed the powder off. Fish are still kicking many months later
