My most recent info can be found below. I've kept several of them in the past 5 years. Grown them from 2" to 30" in captivity and average growth rate is 2-3" a month if you're providing ample food. The fastest growth I saw was 3" consistently when I grew one out in a 480 gallon on it's own. High dissolved oxygen and good current are a must for these fish to really be happy. They definitely take longer to wean onto prepared foods than most shovelnose catfish but I had success starting with feeders->nightcrawlers->market shrimp->hikari massivore in that order. Planiceps are a lot more sensitive than most shovelnose, I would compare them to Tigrinus as far as care levels. This is absolutely my favorite shovelnose specie and the only reason I got rid of them was because I didn't have time for the hobby right now.
