me too!
Just posted a new thread on it https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/fishing-experiences.740084/me too!
I understand what you’re saying with me buying all these fish that I don’t currently have future room for but one thing I don’t understand is why everyone is so against me keeping my fish in a 40 gallon tank for the time being I know that they will not being able stay in the 40 forever I have plans to move them soon I’ll calm down on posting everything so much I’m sorry I’m still young and very passionate about fish keeping I get excited and I’ll stop buying loads of fish I already haven’t been planning on buying more fish but since I have a tote tank set up that’s 20 gallons I didn’t see any issues with buying a flowerhorn fry that’ll outgrow that tote and be put into something bigger in about 4-5 months I and I can’t control my age you can’t say that everyone else has been keeping fish since I was in a diaper because yea it’s true but that’s just cause you guys are all older than me and no I’m not a pro at keeping fish but I am a pro at caring after animals and rehabilitating them and that is something ive been doing since I was in diapers I have always kept exotic animals and taken care of injured animals even baby birds that have fallen out of the tree I used to take in and care after and yes I understand that it’s not the same as caring for fish but I know a lot about the history of most animals native to the U.S I know about diseases causes and health problems in tons of animals I might only be 16 but you don’t know me my plans or anything you just know that I currently have fish in a 40g tank I appreciate that you’re all worried about what’ll happen when they get massive but understand I know what I am doing just cause I haven’t kept a lot of fish doesn’t mean I do not know how to keep fish and it also doesn’t mean I’m not more knowledgeable about the fish I keep than you are of them I don’t want to sound mean by any of this it’s just been something really bothering me I appreciate it all I really do because it shows that you all care for the fish which I love but a part of me feels like you’re looking at the situation that I’m in like it’s you in the situation but it’s not trust me I know what I am doing and no the firewood catfish I do not plan on buying until I have a monster fish pool pond and I might not ever buy a firewood catfish it was just an idea again I know what I am doing thank you for the concern and I did not intend to sound rude or mean in any way during this message, thank youDude! Take a deep breath! You have a pacu in a 40 gallon, and a ton of other catfish, which could easily eat each other like that. Focus on your fish and your fish only. Don’t get anymore, just stop.
Take it from a 2-time probation member and nuisance of the forum. Stop. Listen to what the pros are saying. Most people on here started fish keeping when you were in diapers, or have a tank that is bigger than all yours combined. These guys are pros, and don’t mess around. At this rate, and I hope you don’t mind me saying, but you will end up on probation or permanently band. I came in the same way; way to eager. I took advice for granted, but that is all in the past. Focus on your future. If you want to stay on MFK, stop buying fish. You have a few tanks. Start from there. Then, maybe a few months later, decide what you want to do with a canabalistic 3-foot freshwater shark in a 40 gallon tank.
Best of luck,

+1me andThe Masked Shadow are both teenagers too. we understand it can be frustrating but the majority of people on this forum want the best thing for the fish and are only trying to help. I often find it frustrating that I have a limit of two tanks a 75g and a 125g and if I want more I have to pay the water bill for the whole house lol but I think that is a pretty fair rule because I already know that too most people a 125g tank is crazy lol so I try to look at other peoples perspectives. We are just more worried that you are going to do the right thing and upgrade because you have no idea how many people buy baby monster fish and say they are going to upgrade and dont.
I understand that and I’ve grown up in a house where we don’t get paid for chores and a 20 gallon tank is an absolutely crazy idea in this house because we never have that kind of money but all I need is a new job and yea the older I get the less of this stuff I’ll be able to buy because of different bills and responsibilities but I’m at the point where I’m now learning about those responsibilities but don’t need to worry for a couple more years but at the moment if I buy fish (with the exception of the new flowerhorn I’ll be honest my mom paid for that one as a gift) it’s my money if I buy a tank it’s my money and right now I don’t even have the money to buy a Pepsi at the gas station I do keep my word on everything I say especially when it comes to the well being of animals and if I can’t get a job soon then yes I will have to end up selling all of my fish hopefully be able to keep bullseye( this might sound pathetic) that fish is actually my best friend I love bullseye I don’t want to sell him or get rid of him but I’m man enough to know what if I need to then I will even though that fish is the best thing in my life at the moment if it means he’ll live on a good life then I’ll give or sell him to someone but all I need is a new job I think I’ve found one btw it’s a land surveyor I’m gonna ask a friend about it tomorrow but when I get a new job I’ll get the money for a pond insert or even buy a tarp and get some wood from a friend and building a 300 gallon pond for 50$ Not counting filtration my dad can get me parts for that from his work for free all I’ll need is the media suppliesme andThe Masked Shadow are both teenagers too. we understand it can be frustrating but the majority of people on this forum want the best thing for the fish and are only trying to help. I know exactly where you are at. I was also young when I joined this forum and I got a lot of the same responses. You live and you learn. I know you truly care for these fish and these people have told you exactly what you need to do in order for them to be healthy. I believe you will do the best thing for them, either build them a pond or give them up if that is not an option. Don't let some of the overly negative responses steer you away from fishkeeping, we've all made mistakes and we were all new to fishkeeping at some point, I know I made tons of mistakes in the past. This entire hobby is a learning experience. That said, most of these people are equally as passionate about the fish and the ones who have been around have seen the same thing over and over, fish in small tanks with promises to upgrade later that never happen. I personally don't believe you are like that. I'm looking forward to updates and to see what you do!I understand what you’re saying with me buying all these fish that I don’t currently have future room for but one thing I don’t understand is why everyone is so against me keeping my fish in a 40 gallon tank for the time being I know that they will not being able stay in the 40 forever I have plans to move them soon I’ll calm down on posting everything so much I’m sorry I’m still young and very passionate about fish keeping I get excited and I’ll stop buying loads of fish I already haven’t been planning on buying more fish but since I have a tote tank set up that’s 20 gallons I didn’t see any issues with buying a flowerhorn fry that’ll outgrow that tote and be put into something bigger in about 4-5 months I and I can’t control my age you can’t say that everyone else has been keeping fish since I was in a diaper because yea it’s true but that’s just cause you guys are all older than me and no I’m not a pro at keeping fish but I am a pro at caring after animals and rehabilitating them and that is something ive been doing since I was in diapers I have always kept exotic animals and taken care of injured animals even baby birds that have fallen out of the tree I used to take in and care after and yes I understand that it’s not the same as caring for fish but I know a lot about the history of most animals native to the U.S I know about diseases causes and health problems in tons of animals I might only be 16 but you don’t know me my plans or anything you just know that I currently have fish in a 40g tank I appreciate that you’re all worried about what’ll happen when they get massive but understand I know what I am doing just cause I haven’t kept a lot of fish doesn’t mean I do not know how to keep fish and it also doesn’t mean I’m not more knowledgeable about the fish I keep than you are of them I don’t want to sound mean by any of this it’s just been something really bothering me I appreciate it all I really do because it shows that you all care for the fish which I love but a part of me feels like you’re looking at the situation that I’m in like it’s you in the situation but it’s not trust me I know what I am doing and no the firewood catfish I do not plan on buying until I have a monster fish pool pond and I might not ever buy a firewood catfish it was just an idea again I know what I am doing thank you for the concern and I did not intend to sound rude or mean in any way during this message, thank you
I have plans for a pioneer type pond if that’s not possible then I’ll just buy a 100$ pond insert and put bricks or wood stakes around it and obviously filtration but if money goes good then I’m hoping to have something like thisI know exactly where you are at.
