Being a 9mm guy Ive always loved Glocks (G19 is my daily carry) and Browning Hi-Powers. I finally caved in and decided to give the .45 round and 1911 platform a shot. Afterall the 1911 was made by God's second favorite son himself, John Moses Browning just like the BHP so I have nothing to lose right?

Anyway, here she is. She is a Rock Island Armory (I didnt want to drop near a grand for my first 1911~!) with some upgraded goodies including a beveled magwell, arched main spring housing, night sights and sweet trigger job that breaks clean at 3.5#! Because I have little girl hands Im going to go back to the original flat mainspring housing and get a pair of thin grips vs the hogue wrap arounds on her now. Im thinking a punisher logo on the grips is a must as well. :D

With out further a due....

nice lookin 1911! i just have a norinco 1911a1 that my grandfather passed down to me.

i've been drooling over kimbers for a while now also, i love the Grand Raptor II, but at $1,600 i think i'm going to hold off for a bit, haha. but i'm glad to see kimber changed up their website, i like the new layout better

Nice 1911, I have my eyes on a Rock Island myself.. I wanted a Kimber Custom 2 but just can't see spending $800+ on my first 1911 either. I like those Hogue grips though, the one i'm looking at just has the regular wood grips..

I will say this about this Rock, its slide to frame fit was tighter and the trigger was better then the (factory) $850 Kimber sitting next to it for a whole lot less.

Center Fire Systems which is about 45 minutes from has the RIA Tactical models for just $420. This is the Tactical model with about a box of ammo through it and all the upgrades and I paid a hair over $100 more for a new one. I did ok I suppose.

Very nice
Nothing wrong with RI either........Especially with the upgrades it does have already....I will suggest a stronger recoil spring though....If not currently upgraded.....
I myself have small hands and have no problem with control on a full size 1911.......You shouldn't either if you have not put it through it's paces yet.......

Very cool. I like the black look.

I keep toying with the idea of buying a Kimber 1911. I just don't have the cahoneys to pull the trigger on $1,300. If I do, I'm leaning towards a nickel plated sissy pistol look.

Honestly for that kind of money...You can get alot better for your money....
STI makes some great guns for the money..Compare to a kimber and one can see they are getting a bargin with the STI.......
even around my neck of the woods I can get a nice custom 1911 for that kind of money......Kimber is more of a name than anything
And yes..I myself own several kimbers.......

Exactly.........I love kimber...dont get me wrong...But they are simply over priced for what one gets.....

You did great in my opinion.....

I've always wanted a 1911,a few co workers carry them, but I have a Glock 21 which will do for now.I've always liked ParaOrdinance stuff but as stated above,I've been reluctant to fork over the knid of money that such brands demand...J,I like those grips and I would keep them on but the Punisher symbol sounds neat.JCardona has done well with a skull etched onto his AR.

I cant keep the grips, my hands are literally too small and I cant reach the mag release, plus to me, if Im going to shoot a single stack gun, the grip better be thinner then my Glocks grips which have double capacity!
