I cant keep the grips, my hands are literally too small and I cant reach the mag release, plus to me, if Im going to shoot a single stack gun, the grip better be thinner then my Glocks grips which have double capacity!

That RI screams for a set of custom grips anyhow.........Plus if gone about right-Fitment will be perfect......

Nice purchase. I think they have some of those for sale on Centerfiresystems.com right now. I bought my first .45 this year as well (...er in August). It's a stainless Kimber Polymer double stack 1911.

The 1911 was the first handgun I ever drooled over in a store. I have yet to purchase one, but I've had the pleasure of firing one once, and I loved it. I can't remember who made it though.

nice! i need a new hangun. just got to decide what.

hmm, something in 10mm or a XDm in 9mm?? XDm has 19 plus 1! :naughty:

Honestly for that kind of money...You can get alot better for your money....
STI makes some great guns for the money..Compare to a kimber and one can see they are getting a bargin with the STI.......
even around my neck of the woods I can get a nice custom 1911 for that kind of money......Kimber is more of a name than anything
And yes..I myself own several kimbers.......

My whole thoughts behind it..... I've always wanted a Kimber. I also like the 22cal conversion slide kit that you can get. I tend to be the type of person that if I don't buy exactly what I want, I won't ever be satisfied. Of course, if I can find a decent brand with the conversion kit, I might reconsider.

I guess I'm lucky. I got a Kimber Grand Raptor II and an Pro Carry II both for about $700 a piece.

My father has the .22 cal conversion kit for one of his many Kimbers. It's a nice option to have.

I hear ya...I love my kimber as well......Just after the collection that I do have...I found out one can get better if custom built or built themselves....The conversions are nice....Alot of benefits with them.....
I myself am sure I will purchase another down the road.....

Hey bro. Look up Ed over at "wicked grips". They specialize in custom grips 1911 style pistols. The do custom inlays etc.. dig into their gallries page and you'll see what I mean. He quoted me a decent price to make black grips with a silver inlay of my favorite tattoo. Awesome looks and should fit your hands better. I get my first .45 1911 this year too. :D

A simple style of theirs for example
