First 55 gallon planted tank!

One of the most functional critters that i always suggest to friends of mine with planted tanks are a small school of otto cat fish.. they are great at keeping algae counts low and are not harsh on your plants, unlike plecos and CAE's. I was also very partial to Dwarf cichlids, just because they were such fiesty fish that were always active and amusing to watch.
 
Thanks. I'm actually using the API Leaf zone fert but I'm gonna get either dry ferts or root tabs/pellets. I thought about ottos but I'm gonna go to my lfs and just see what they have.
 
The catfish you have is not a cory, and I think it is will get pretty big. Corys are good community fish to get and will stay a good size for your tank.
