I know theres a ton of info on the web about angels, but my angels just laid eggs...which i was unprepared for. But nowhere have i read about them being raised in a community aquarium is it just not done? If i put them in a spare ten gal should fit be bare bottom? Problem is their laid on a plant thats rooted in a huge piece of driftwood.....should i cut off that one leaf and move it? They seem to be good parents so far fending and fanning the nest. Any suggestions would be great.

So i cut off the one leaf they were on (ozelot sword plant) and put it in a 5 gal, with a bubbler, using the sme water from the original tank. I siphoned off the white eggs, and just waiting for signs of life now. Heated the tank to be even with the 75. So what should i feed them once the yolk sacs disappear? Anything i may be overlooking? And should i use 75 gal tank water for wc or just get new nd dechlorinate it?

Put the air stone Next to the eggs to imitate the parents fanning. Feed hikari first bites, finely crushed foods, or if possible baby brine shrimp, also if you have a small piece of driftwood or rock with algae growth, put that in there with them for an all you can eat buffet. And as far as water changes, once they are free swimming, 10-20% daily of fresh water will be best

Ok thank you...hadnt thought of the algae will do....is aged water ok? Id prefer not to use dechlorinator with em just aerate over night in a bucket? Read about the air stone being close to them, im hoping they make it there were alot of white eggs that i got out, and this is their first spawn

Update time. Ive just noticed babies out today, they still have the egg sacks and not free swimming yet. I thought i lost them all and decided to leave the tank up a few extra days, good thing i did. Im doing 20% wc every day with water thats aged (in bucket with aerator for 12 hrs). Everything seems to be going well with maybe 20 fry. I lost quite a few to fungus.

You should try baby brine frozen or live works. If not hard boil an egg and feed them the yoke pushed through a fine mesh like stocking. But make sure to keep the tank clean as that will foul the water quickly.

Thanks for the tip egg yolks are far more available to me here as i have to drive about an hour to a decent lfs. Im using a bare bottom tank, and diy sponge filter. Cleaning on this tank seems to be an everyday ordeal....one question once the fry are freeswimminghow do you do wc and cleaning without sucking them up?

Update. Their completley free swimming now, im having trouble getting them to eat, i did put an algae covered snail in the tank and im assuming their ,unching on algae here and there but truly dont know. Hard boiled yolk just tend to sit there till i siphon them out like 5 hours later. Still doin 20 % waterchanges daily. Im attempting to get brine shrimp tomorrow. Are mosquito larvae too big? Should i wait on that? Any other food suggestions? Im also nervous about the snail (japanese trapdoor snail) but from what i read it shouldnt harm anything. Any suggestions are great

Mosquito larvae way to big... with the yolk you need to strain through some very fine mesh so that it is like a yellow cloud, and if they are eating it you should see there bellies turn yellow.
