I am a noobie setting up my first tank in quite some time. I think I maybe had a 10 gal when I was a kid. Its a 55 gal that I picked up on craigslists. It had 2 hob filters, hoods, lights and stand for $75.

The setup consist of:
Aquarium Systems Millennium 3000 filter
Whisper 30-60 filter
Whisper 60 air pump
Marineland Stealth Pro 200w heater
50 lbs of Pea Gravel
Plants
Driftwood

I will pick up some fish today to begin the cycle.

The stock will eventually consist of:
Jack Dempsey (currently in a 20 gal at work)
Buenos Aires Tetras or Silver Dollars
Striped Raphael Catfish
Leopard Pleco (currently in a 20 gal at work) - maybe or he may go to a 180 gal

I plan to work on some caves made out of slate and rock this weekend.

I attached a pic of the tank after cleaning, the tank as of last night, and the Jack Dempsey (the ugly blue gravel was replaced with natural)

Nice dempsey hes going to thank you for the upgrade :] and is that a violet goby I see?

Thanks, the 20 is a grow out tank. The JD is only about 3" now but once my tank is cycled at home he will make his way to it. Yeah that was a goby...until he decided to jump out. He was replaced by a bichir.

nice! you'll be surprised an you even notice that after a year you'll have a hundred tanks running.
