Thanks. It is certainly an addiction. Its funny how I used to give my friend so much crap about his "fish problem". I'm just getting started but now I get the same crap from others.

Yeah, now look whos got a "problem" That driftwood looks sick man. I remember seeing that piece when we went up there. If I didn't have a ray in my tank i would def go get a piece myself.

Wow its been almost a year since I started this tank. I did make a few changes to the tank and figured I would post an update.

The 6 BAT's are now down to 1! I thought about buying 5 more but my JD would probably pick them off again. Although I think one of them jumped and another was just sick. I did add 3 silver dollars that I bought at a very small size and let grow some in a 10g. They school with the last BAT and the JD leaves them alone.

I'm guessing the JD is now close to 9", about as thick as my hand, and has some killer teeth showing on the bottom.

The 10g that I was using for the baby silver dollars is now a planted tank with a dwarf gourami, neon tetras, ghost shrimp, and red cherry shrimp. As some of the plants grew too large for the 10g I moved them to the 55g. Now the 55g has only live plants and looks like a more natural tank.

I also got bit by the saltwater bug and started a 10g nano reef tank.

Yeah I have not updated in a while. I got the driftwood at Fish World, which is no longer in business. I think the only tropical place left, other than PetSmart or Petco, is Carolina Pet Supply in Garner or Aquarium Outfitters in Wake Forest. I did talk to the owner of the Fish Room a few weeks back and he mentioned adding a freshwater section to his store for MFK style fish like arrowana, pleco's, catfish, etc.

I am no expert, but have learned quite a bit over the past year of fish keeping. My pleco is never out and always under its rock cave. My JD did turn out nice, not bad for a PetSmart fish. He has some amazing color and I hope to get some better pictures when I get my new camera soon. At this point I would say I'm hooked, but the good part is my girlfriend likes the tanks too. So when I have the cash to upgrade my 55g to a 120g+, it will not be an issue. :headbang2

They have a good selection of fish. The last time I was there they had a 3ft redtail catfish , couple of 2ft+ black pleco's, some nice size aro's, chichlids, loaches, etc.

Sweet I can't wait to go check it out then :)
