The bulbs are 26 watt compact florescent, and there are 6 bulbs total. a 26 watt CF has the same output as a 100 watt incad.
I think they are around $150 each new, because they have dimming ballasts.
I got them used for nothing though lol.

Nice job, If you want some really cool moon lighting you can go to " the cooler guys " web site, they sell cold cathode lighting, very cool moonlight effect, you can pick them up for about 6.00. they are actually for computer case lighting but work great for aquarium because they are 2 long tubes and they diffuse lighting across the whole tank vs led's that give you bright spots here and there. all you will need is a power source.

tank90, hope this can help someone, i have these on both my 90 and 240 and they look awsome at night.

I just use the neon tubes like they sell to go under cars....basically the same thing, but they are meant to get wet.

Thanks for the info though, i might have to try that on one of the smaller tanks!

good job looks great

where's those pic ?

They are on the old server. When you dig up a thread that is over a year old there are bound to be some cobwebs in the system.

They're somwhere in my gallery I think.

make the pictures work!!!!

I'm not sure if I can. I'll have to dig out the old hard drive to see if they're still on it.
