First Breeding Attempt: Early Disaster

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
what you can do after you condition your female up a little bit...is buy a 10 gallon tank divider. add the male to one side in the 10 gallon and let them be for a day or so. do a water change and add some colder water to the tank (nothing too extreme). you should be able to tell if theyre going to breed by now, so if its ok raise the divider. then you can watch them spawn before your eyes.

keep a close eye on them. check on them to make sure nobody is being picked on and wait for eggs. youll get a feel on whether or not theres any aggression but its good to remove the male right away due to your tank being small.

its a good idea to get a female slightly bigger than the male.

Yea, thanks for all your help guys. I will let the female heal up and then get that divider and a smaller male. Hopefully I will come across the money to get a 29 gallon tank in the living room because my room is filled up.
