First catfish

I would have to disagree with the lima vote here guys. Sorry. Your tank is only 16.5 inches deep. this is a catfish that if taken care of properly should reach in excess of 18". Your fish will have no where to turn at.

And another thing i only calculate your tank to be 95 gallons not 140.

O. ok well what would be a good catfish to put in a 95gal. CA/SA biotope. Sorry i was told 140 when i got it.

Pictus or some other medium or smaller pims?

Some Synos. will get 7"+ 90 gals. would be fine.

So I would have to go bigger if i wanted some monster cats. Like a Niger or any Shovel noses.

You are correct, you'd need quite a bit larger. I also get 95 Gallons when putting your dimensions into an Aquarium calculator. That is still a good size tank and could house some neat fish, just none of the monster cats.

Limas are a beautiful fish.
They are 1ft max, and will sleep vertically until they realize there are no fish that can be eaten in that tank. No fish less than 5".

I would have to argue different, when I look at the two, 2 year old limas in my tank. You'd be lucky to keep them under a foot in the first year alone. I have two, one is 11" never eats, the other is 15-16" eats alot.
