First cichlid tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the 44s are a little smaller than the peacocks right now. I've noticed absolutely no aggression so far(if anything I'd say its the other way around
lol)...i also didnt realize that they were vics. knowing that, I'll probably get rid of them because im trying to stick with malawians anyways.
as for the blue gravel, i had a garbage bag full of it so I figured I'd give it a shot. Now that its in there I'm thinking sand would look alot better. I might switch it next time I do some work on the tank...thanks for the comments :D

I actually scored this tank and stand from the side of the road! Ya gotta love free tanks lol. but judging by the big als items tht came with it I'm gonna guess it's from big als. I'm from the Kitchener area...Most of these fish are from the big als in Kitchener.

ya, im aware that theyll get bigger than what they are now and a tank upgrade will be possible if needed...
I was looking at some pictures of 44's online and mine look nothing like them(i know there still juvenile but the body shape seems off)...i tryed to get a couple decent shots of mine, do they look like hap 44's to those of you with more experience?

wow, i feel really dumb right now lol
it seems as if i got the two different bags mixed up when i introduced the new fish. those pics i was wondering about are actually the electras...which makes alot more sense
on a side note, I put a few more in today so I'll put some pics of the new guys up within the next couple days

id move the filters for better water circulation. Looks like you potentially have a lot of dead zones in the tank. also, you sure thats an angelicus? I could be wrong about that last part.

:) great start. much better than my 1st cichlid tank.
