Monitors, even the more in-active types, are still a whole lot more active and stimulating........All my Tegus did was sit around and want to eat......Not the most intelligent animals either.......I had one try to eat my shoe........

tegus are in the monitor family, are they not?

That's interesting, I'll touch base with the community in a few weeks. Like I said it's my first attempt so I'll have to make my own call on this project with hands on experience. Thanks for the heads up though.

You won't regret it, they become very tame and have great personalities. Just out of curiosity what are you feeding yours? I'm feeding my b/w arg chicken gizzards, chicken hearts, calf livers, ground turkey, with occasional fruit.

I think you need a bit more fiber on that diet.

btw I saw your post on tegutalk too, your best bet is to feel for the hemipenes spelling?

I think you need a bit more fiber on that diet.

What would you suggest fiber wise? Tegus arn't a big fan of vegetables.

x2, every tegu i've ever seen was very intelligent, def. smartest lizards i've seen, along with monitors.

Im not only talking about vegetables, your including way to much cleaned parts of meat, what about some mice and quail? And some superworms, roaches, locusts,etc?
