And put them where?? In the 50gl....? Nah, id rather sell them so they can have a nice big home rather than a cramed 50gl with feeders all over the place. Shoot, Id try to jump out
They do have some big Pcs of driftwood to hide as they do at night. During the day they are kosher but at night they all knock out inbetween the Driftwood. I know I skipped feedeing the Armatus yesterday on purpose as I was going to start to try to get him off live foods. Maybe thats why (just wouldnt explain the rest of the minor attacks on the same lil feller)??
If he's on live food that def. has something to do with it. And being the biggest fish in your tank...well u know the rule....BIG FISH EAT LITTLE FISH....and I'll add... AT LEAST TRY/KILL THEM....LOL
Armatus can def. have tankmates but they should be equally sized or bigger, I've seen them with all kinds of large fish.
Your Armatus has "the sickness" now. Good luck in future endevors. I been preaching for how many months now..... GET HIM OFF LIVE.
There is no excuse for this. I KNOW for a fact they are puddy cats when off live. I have a friggin SILVERY 5-6 inch Pink Tailed Chelceus that lived with my first Armatus up to a foot and is with my 3 now and has NEVER came up with a missing scale. Tail tettered a couple times but that's it.
You need to remove his dominance. Go get something, ANYTHING that is bigger than the Armatus and that can take a beating. You can't allow him to run the tank if you ever want to have fish with him again. I'de advise some Gar. Gonna take some BIG teeth to get through that hyde.
doubt you'd want to do this, maybe try buying and cutting glass to use as a divider.. especially if you dont want to sell your surinamensis, that way your geos wont die
dont know if you like the "divider look" in your tank tho
