I would recommend going with a Danner Mag Drive 2400 instead, more water volume and uses less power 65 watts instead of 90 watts like the Flowstar. I am using the Mag drive on my 240 build, this thing is quiet and puts out the flow and parts are easy to come by if you need them, can be used in or out of the sump as well. Tank is looking good.

Im new to all of this, I found a thread for a guy that made an 8ft x 4ft x 12" tank but open top no viewing panels. say i wanted to put a glass panel in, how do you attach it to the wood? silicone? or...? probably sounding like an idiot haha but im just getting into this

it all depends on the type of sealer you use for the plywood, ie liquid rubber, or pond armor, epoxy resin or fiberglass, will dictate what you would use to seal the glass into the tank.
