First ever Discus....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Perfect thats exactly what I needed to know they are having a really good sale on the 28 nano's on doctors foster and smith.

Any advice for breeding discus? I have what I was told to be a mated breeding pair but I have only had them a few days and I was going to purchase one more proven mated pair. What should I get for my other pair? My BF brought me home the first 2 so I didn't have much of a choice. They are a beautiful blue, should I go with a different color?

Hi Nicole. The first thing is that all "proven" pairs are not! "True" proven pairs are little money makers, and if very good and prolific...will hardly ever be sold off. More money in it for the breeder to keep them. UNLESS...It's someone like DiscusHans...who has proven pairs coming out of his ears! I can vouch for Hans's pairs...they're real! Fresh, clean water for Discus, and perhaps live food usually puts them in the mood. A big waterchange with cold water, can work wonders. The brief cooler temp. triggers something in them. All the best...Bill

This pair has had fry....and my secons set I think will be from Han's I have only heard good things.

you need one show tank with the discus and rays..all breeding in the tank....that would be nice..........nice collection of fish...

discus are like lays chips...you can't just have one......
