Today i went fishing in a nearby lake. I am new to fishing, only doing it like 2-3 times in my life, and never landing a fish, i was just out to have some fun and learn a little more. my friend who has fish for a few year was teaching me how to cast a few days ago and since we have been going the pond pretty often.

Well today was my lucky day because i caught like 4-5 catfish. I am pretty sure they are bullheads. of course i realeased them but not before snapping a few pics. will try to get them up soon, but i am just so happy about catching them!

yeah most of the fish didnt even register on the scale my friend brought. but one did and it was about 1/2 a pound, which according to him is large ofr a pond fish. and it was about 6" long. just wondering, what did you use for bait

Good job! I have been fishing a ton for about a year and I haven't landed a fish bigger than 4 inches. :)

LOL!!

You must be using worms or something, cause the state u live in is one Of the best places to catch VERY big bass.

The bullhead I usually catch are around 4-10" they're pretty small. I have seen some huge monsters but I've never been able to land one.

When I caught my walleye, I was actually hoping on catching myself a small pike, I used a small red devil spinner. I was baffled when I found a huge monster on the end of my line! Especially with such a small spinner, it was only about 3" long.

thank you. it was very exciting. i couldnt stop shaking, lol

If you arent catching anything, switch lure size, color, depth, and type (go with Rapala crankbaits, and Gulp worms. creme worms arent good quality but i caught a 3 pounder on one).
My favorite lure overall is a Countdown rapala. I have caught largemouth, walleye, smallmouth, etc. and it is relatively new!

To be honest, the only things I've ever caught fish with were worms, and red devil lures. Every now and then a jig catches a nice smallmouth bass, but spinners all the way. :D

My family has been going out musky fishing on the boat, I've yet to go with them. My uncle said he almost landed a 3' gar once! I almost **** myself when he told me because I have a 8" gar at home. It'd be a dream come true if I caught a monster gar!
