First fish of the season!

Thank god ponds are finally melting and the fish are biting. Nothing huge, but after a long winter anything will do.

That is a chain pickerel, not a pike. I don't eat fish so I have no idea what they taste like, but I would assume they aren't that good.

Nice. Wish I had more fish like that here. We Just have Trout, Sturgeon and Salmon.

yes, pike are good to eat, and pickerel are pretty much the same thing, so I would assume they taste the same. They are boney, but taste great

yup, I'm from Mass. Exactly a month from today the boat goes in and we get to the serious fishing. 40 lb. stripers on live bait is addictive!
