Thank you all for your comments. I may look into adding some Java Fern or something. I have never had live plants before. Will it be easy to add? Is it high maintenance?

Java Fern should be easy to keep with very low maintenance. You might also consider some anubius, they are easy to keep as well. Keep us updated!!

Java Fern doesn't require high maintenance, it just can't have too bright of light or else the leaves get all transparent/dead looking. But Java Fern would look good on your wood.
