hi all here are some pics of my first gar - im told by the store its a florida because" it came all the way from florida" lol. i asked if it was a spotted or florida and the reponse was -" florida, spotted are the same thing". my reply was a smirk (i dont ever argue with the noobs that work in some of these stores as it is often pointless!!!!!!!) so if anyone can ID this gar ill be very grateful thanks!!! the gar is roughly 7-8" and cost me £80 on top of a 120 mile round trip 
but to me its worth it as its the first gar ive ever seen in a fish store and maidenhead aquatics are known for being on the expensive side. anyways hope you enjoy all comments welcome!

they had him since he was half that size. havent seen him eat pellet yet but he has eaten some bloodworm.
.. "Spotted gars" are 99% of the time "Florida gars". At least they didn't try and sell you an alligator gar as a florida or spotted gar >.< I see that one alot.. Looks nice and healthy too!
